OTAGO Exercise Programme

Fit & Strong!

Designed for older adults with lower-extremity osteoarthritis, Fit & Strong! combines flexibility, strengthening, and aerobic walking with self-management education. It helps reduce joint pain and improve confidence to stay active — a meaningful benefit for fall prevention.

Fall Risk Assessment In-Person

STEADI Fall Risk Screening

A structured fall risk screening developed by the CDC and delivered by your parent's primary care physician or a clinical team. Uses three simple tests — including the Timed Up and Go test — to assess balance, strength, and gait. The starting point before choosing any exercise program.

Tai Chi Virtual / Online

Virtual Tai Chi for Health

Evidence-based Tai Chi classes delivered live via video for older adults who prefer to exercise at home or live in areas without local classes. Classes are gentle, instructor-led, and specifically adapted for balance and fall prevention. A chair is available for support throughout.

Caregiver Education Hybrid

Home Safety Assessment

An occupational therapist visits your parent's home to identify trip hazards and recommend simple modifications — grab bars, better lighting, rug removal, and bathroom safety equipment.
